Here is a troubleshooting guide I wrote up a while ago. Maybe this will help...
Common problems while installing AVP onto an S8300D or S8300E.
Boot process
Troubleshooting on the S8300D/E is very difficult since there is no console. One thing we have seen go wrong is that sometimes the S8300E...
Are you trying to convert the existing host to ESXi or trying to move the VM to a new host?
If moving to a new host you should be able to copy (scp) the entire directory where the VM is installed on AVP to the new host datastore and then import that as an existing VM...
It sounds like it is installing to something other than the first hard disk (like the usb stick). You could boot the install DVD into the "No USB avaya-avp Installer" option if you have access to the console. It will then go through the normal ESXi screens and you can see if your disks show up...
I just noticed you are connecting to the services port rather than the public interface. Is it possible to connect using the public interface? The certificate generated on the server probably has that IP address, not 192.168.13.6.
Here are some trouble shooting steps I wrote up a while ago...
Boot process
Troubleshooting on the S8300D/E is very difficult since there is no console. One thing we have seen go wrong is that sometimes the S8300E will not initialize if too many things are plugged into the USB ports, including...
Is it a stand alone ESXi host or is the host being managed by vCenter? If the host is being managed by vCenter then SDM should connect to the vCenter not the host.
If you are running System Platform 6.4.x you will need to add an NTP server configuration for each of the guest VMs. I'm trying to find a PSN about that but not seeing it.
VMware doesn't support time zones in ESXi therefore time zones are also not supported in AVP (which is just an Avaya customized OEM ESXi). Avaya recommends the AVP host be set to UTC and also have an NTP server configured. Each guest application (CM, etc.) should have NTP server configured and...
I don't know about the R210 but for the Avaya provided R610, R620, R630, etc. they are provided from Dell with an OEM BIOS which is kind of what it sounds like here since BIOS type shows up as null. Is there anywhere from Avaya to get a BIOS for that server?
jimbojimbo is correct. You need SP 6.3.7 or higher for S8300E. As for your ping issue that could be a totally separate issue with the combination of DVD drive and the S8300E. The services port is brought active by the System Platform installer so if the installer even booted up I would think the...
What you might want to try is to deploy Utility Services with the VMware Embedded Host Client (EHC) just to see if the problem is with your AVP install or your hardware (bad disk?) or the version of SDM you are using. The Embedded Host Client is VMware's replacement for the vSphere Client...
I think a lot of the gymnastics you describe in the first 5 steps depend on how temperamental your DVD drive is. But overall that is a pretty fail-safe list of steps. Is your DVD drive external powered? Also on some of the older Digistor drives that had the battery for extra power, that battery...
Do you notice the DVD spinning up and reading from the disk for around 30 - 60 seconds after your S8300E resets? It should be accessing the DVD to boot and then load the installer and typically you can see the DVD being accessed at this time. I have seen the USB ports acting up if it is drawing...
I don't think the Windows SDM Clinet has a way to back up and restore its data. Probably SMGR/SDM does. I think it is stored in a postgres database so it may be possible to do if you wanted to mess around with that.
