you have to go to program 4-12 in order to assign a button that does both
1>on whatever phone that needs it, you'll need the port number of that phone. feature 4 on that phone will tell you in the display
2>get into programming
3>goto program 4-12
4>conference to get to the port you found...
on the elitemail there is an option in the user directory
ctrl-d
go to the mailbox you want to access b exts
ctrl-e
a for access codes
see if there is an option to address messages by ext. if so turn it on

nec wants you to have the refresh timer turned on for it which completely goes against their opinions dealing with their vm's!
i normally turn the refresh timer to non unless i have acd+. when the system does it's reset it will also reset the vm card and could cause data...

call forward busy/no answer timer is a system wide setting. so if you change it for 1 you change it for all
you need the cosessions sotware to get into the vm.
in every mailbox there is options for saved/archive messages (in days)
you can adjust every mailbix to be the same or different. i wouldn't allow the archive to be too long as you've only got like 4 hours of storage total. i ususlly do 7 days...
