I have herd there are viruses out there that can harm hardware. One in mind causes your computer to run at an accelerated speed and basically causes a meltdown.
Try going into your computer in safe mode, and then re-installing your video card driver. Then restart your computer and boot up the normal way. That should take care of it.
Well I know that first you should download a speed up agent like the ones you mentioned. Then when you have downloaded it should be self guided tour on what and how much to tweak stuff in your computer.
Are you for sure that your computer has enough memory to run it from the hard drive that is where you are going to get your best graphics, running from CD gives you crappy graphics.
In windows there is a limit to how many fonts you can have at the time they say you can only load 1,000 you really can't install near that many. not sure exactly how many you can, but in your case you have probally reached your limit.
Go in and make sure that you're screen saver is turned so it doesn't come on during the process. It can cause it to do what you are describing try that.
Well that sounds like a problem to where you will probally need to contact HP Tech Support. But you can always go onto the HP Home Page and go to frequently asked questions or send them an email about your problem and you won't have to talk on the phone.
Well I don't know how to put a password on it, but you can right click on the folder then go to properties then at the top there will be little tabs click the one that says view. And you can make it a hidden file and he won't be able to see that the file even exist.
