Before you can change configurations in any Cisco device you need to be in configuration mode.
After seeing the # promtp wich means you are in privileged mode, enter "config t" short for configuration terminal.
You will get a prompt like Firewall(config)#
There is where you can change...
Errmm.... should work that way, I did it, just asking.... didn't you forget to make the access-group entry on the interface you want to apply this access-list to?
Hi guys,
I configured a PIX to handle incoming pptp requests delivering an IP-address from a local pool. I wonder if it is possible to let the PIX or the IAS server handle the IP-addresses depending on the id of the caller? In other words, it's like an address reservation more like DHCP servers...
What cable are you using to connect to your switch? Should be a normal patchcable only when you connect to another interface directly you should use a crosscable. you knew that.... sometimes we overlook simple things, just start allover checking all the asumed "natural" as well and maybe... who...
Hi cfwdude,
Blame the PIX (it's allways the PIX ;-) )
I prefer to use ACL's in stead of conduits. It makes things a lot more transparent I think. You can attach the "access-group in" command to an interface for example:
access-group 101 in interface outside
access-list 101 permit icmp any...
The 827 can be cofigured to use PPPoE but this is no Cisco problem, the connection is made by this Zyxel appliance, hence i don't have a clue ;-), Cisco rulezz!!
But i do have a usefull URL for you, check the support notes on your Zyxel:
http://www.zyxel.com/support/supportnote/zywall35/
Good luck!
Why not try the Cisco 2600/3660/3700 Series Network Analysis Module!!

Etherchannel should do the trick for catalyst series switches.
In Catalyst 6500/6000 switches running CatOS, EtherChannel aggregates the bandwidth of up to eight compatibly configured ports into a single logical link. A Catalyst 6500/6000 family switch supports a maximum of 128 EtherChannels...
They do indeed, but not with ISL. The first in line to do that would be the 2620.
If you still didn't get it to work nickcuk, please paste a sample of your config here so we can be of assistance.
Good Luck!

I would like to know a bit more about the situation here.
Are you talking about a production network or a home situation?
But i know this: If your mailserver is on the same subnet as your workstation is, you don't need to mess with your router. If it isn't, check access-list rules and make sure...
That's the easy way home narbik ;-)
You need to configure sub-inerfaces on your router becouse trunks are configured there.
ISL encapsulation will not work since it's Cisco proprietary hence you need dot1q besides, it will not work on a 1700 series router anyways so.. but you knew that didn't...
