I seem to have a problem, I cant seem to fix my Reverse MX record. I am not sure if it is my Router or the DNS entry, however, here is why I think it is my router config.

when I check my ip from the Mail serer it states the router address. I am not sure if that is the problem, but I believe it is.

DO I need to program the router to let a port in and point to the correct address for it to work properly?

I am kind of lost on how to do it. can anyone help?

Thanks

I would like to know a bit more about the situation here.
Are you talking about a production network or a home situation?
But i know this: If your mailserver is on the same subnet as your workstation is, you don't need to mess with your router. If it isn't, check access-list rules and make sure the router isn't blocking anything.
If all this is set correctly I blame your DNS!

Do you NAT or port forward from your routers address to your mail server? If so then you will need to allow this traffic through if you want to get SMTP to your server.

If you tell us what the domain name is we might be able to check it.

Chris.
