If you can boot from the cdrom can you also do a repair on the OS...?
Also, can you use the A/C adaptor to try this, take the laptop off the docking station while you try it...port replicator may be corrupted...

One more thing; by default the local administrator is the recovery agent when not working in a domain environment; you would want to remove that and add a domain admin as the recovery agent...someone who can be trusted obviously

DHCP most likley will not work through the router (unless you install a relay agent-which you wouldn't for just one machine)...
ensure firewalls are allowing communication through the network address involved and then setup the 2kpro machine on 1st floor manually using the same subnet and...
ahhh carp,,,just thought of someting else....is this user only allowed to have ONE logged on instance? If so, is anyone else using the users credentials to logon from a different location, meaning her session would log off?
If so, change her password and be done with it.

I am not kidding about the above post----Administrator and SYSTEM users BOTH fall UNDER the EVERYONE group!!! As does EVREYONE who successfully logs onto the machine---see what I mean--if the user ahs permission but belongs to the everyone group which does not have permission then the access...
Check the domain acount to make sure there is no restrictions to logon times..
then go here on local gpedit.msc
local computer=>windows settings=>security options
make sure Automatically log off users when logon time expires (local)
is NOT enabled...

open quick launch area of task bar, right click, new=>shortcut
command:
c:\winnt\system32\calc.exe (win2k)
c:\windows\system32\calc.exe (winXP)
click next, name it calc, right click shortcut, click properties, set shortcut key to open it..close property sheet, close quick launch window, now...
Enable encryption on the folder that the file slay in; then ensure that the domain(or local PC) has a designated recovery agent in case the files need to be recovered and the person who encrypted them has left the company or forgerts their NT logon or whatever...

Just make IE the shell and be done with it,,,,when the PC bots you will get the normal logon screen, once credentials are entered IE will open

Go to the drive that contains the swap file (usually c:\)
right click the drive, left click properties, click security, click the group EVERYONE and in the permissions box below ensure that the "everyone" group has full permissions, other wise you will KEEP getting out of memory...
