DNS Entries for Exchange and Comcast issues

Chris covered it. We had the same issue with Comast when we went from Lotus Notes to Exchange. #3 (ISP add reverse DNS) was the final fix for us.

Just in case anyone runs across this issue. Here was the fix and other issues. The MSDTC group in the cluster was missing a resource for "Distributed Transaction Coordinator". Added that entry and was able to install SP2, but afte the reboot, the upgrade virtual server option was not...

I am running Exchange 2003 Enterprise in an Active/Passive cluster (Server 2003 SP1). I am trying to install Service Pack 1 for the DST update (yes I know, SP1). I receive the following error message when I start the install and select Update. -The Microsoft Distributed Transaction...

I don't have any words of wisdom for you dwessell, but I have one user out of 406 that will not show up in the GAL. it's been weeks since the mailbox was originally created. I tried deleting the mailbox and creating it again and that hasn't worked either. Did you check this KB article for...

    contivity client 5.01 problem

What 5.01 version are you running? We were using 5.01.120 or .130 and having some odd issues. Called Nortel and they had pulled that release off their website and told me to start using 5.01.110. Took care of all our problems (mostly eacfilt driver errors and disconnects). We weren't getting...

    Deployment of Contivity VPN Client

Boy the original post is old. I was faced with the same thing. You have to have the end user enter the Group password after the install. I just created a word document and pdf with screenshots and told them what to do. I could never find a way to have the install package enter in the...

    HIPPA requirements

What HIPPA requirements do I need to worry about?" All of them. Good place to start. http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa/

    VPN disconnects at Marriott Hotels

It could be the model routers they use as well. Some have problems supporting IPSEC passthrough or fragmented packets. We deal with the same thing. You just have to suggest they go somewhere else.

    VLANs and PVID

I would recommend setting the PVID. Never have used AutoPVID.

LAN printing via TCP/IP while connected to VPN

You could print while connected to the VPN if your VPN switch was set to do Split-tunneling. There may be another work around but I don't know one.

Nortel Contivity log: Delete ISAKMP SA

What model Contivity is it? Using 128 or 56? What do you have at the branch offices? You upgraded from what to 4_06.222. 4_06 is pretty old. I have been putting off an upgrade for a while (like over a year) and went from 4_06.120 to 4_85.120.

    450 Stack

I agree it's hit and miss. For me it's been more miss than hit. I would try to replace the unit without powering down. See what happens. I would almost bet you will have to reboot the stack. If it was me I would power down the stack and replace the unit. Bring it all up together. You...

QoS over VPN on a Contivity 1100

Sounds like a nice way to say "We don't know" Would be anxious to hear how it goes. Could probably see us trying to use our 1700 for that in the future.

    Passport 8600 connected to a 5510 issue

hmmm, Only things I know to tell you to check is PVID on all the ports, make sure they are the same. Make sure all the ports are set to Access (untagged) or Trunk (tagged). Have you tested your fiber or cable? Have you tried just a single uplink on each GBIC?

VPN Connection on a different domain

If your vpn works out on the road from other locations; there is a problem with you "office" connection. Is the office connection you are referring too on your corporate network? or at your house or remote location? If it's on your corporate network and they have a proxy server, yes I see...

Multiple VPN Connections on Shared Internet Connection

I've got the linksys BEFSR41 (11b w/4prt switch) and it supports multiple vpn sessions. Also on the BEFSR41, check and make sure you have the latest firmware. Some of their earlier codes didn't do to well with IPSEC. Forester, Go ahead and change your SSID and disable broadcast on your...

    vpn trhough DI-614+ wont work

Mespe, Don't know if you are still having a problem out of your D-link 614, but in my experience we have had to make sure the firmware is updated or VPN will not pass through the router.

    Nortel VPN Contivity and DSL....Arghhhhhh

Bill, I would look at the setup in your modem. If you've changed keepalives, and tried different routers, then that might be the next thing to check. I am not familiar with that model, but I know a firmware update works wonders for some models. Don't know that, that applies in your case but...

new Contivity Nortel Client doesn't work anymore with DLink614+

fitu, update the firmware on the D-link router. I have had several people with the same issue and once they update the firmware, problem solved. I think the issue lies with Fragmented packets, and only the latest firmware release supports this. Have also seen this with a few Linksys routers...
