We have remote offices that have Contivity 1050's with a Contivity 1100 at the corporate office. They connect via IPSec VPN's. We have a BCM 3.5 at the corporate office that has QoS DiffServ marking turned on which marks the IP voice packets with a hex value of 0xB8. Does anyone know how to prioritize the VoIP traffic over the VPN's? I didn't see anywhere on the Contivity QoS screen to input the hex value to prioritize. I am new to QoS so please let me know if you need anymore info.

I have done a single QoS test on my Contivity 1700. First of all, in order to enable the QoS feature you need to purchase a Advanced Routing Feature Key from your vendor. I obtained one from Nortel thru my vendor. The only thing I configured in QoS was to specify the IP address of my BCM unit. After the modification, our voice technician told me the VoIP quality result was great.

We do have the advanced routing code on both units. What's funny is that we had some engineers from Nortel out here the other day and they couldn't get it to work right. They had to "go back to the lab" and do some more tests.

Sounds like a nice way to say "We don't know"

Would be anxious to hear how it goes. Could probably see us trying to use our 1700 for that in the future.
