    Definitely off the motherboard manufacturer. I've never heard of a bios update that can update from a p2 to a p3. surely they're different bus speeds so the motherboard won't support it even with a bios upgrade(?). I think I'm right in saying that. does anyone know for definite?

    you can't go wrong with real vnc. I use it all the time over my home network and it's never let me down once. Also for what it does, I was expecting a 50-100 mb download - I as amazed to see it's less than 1mb!

    It sounds like your drivers for your graphics card are not installed or are corrupt. Go to your graphics card's website and download the latest drivers. Install the drivers and restart. I would be suprised if it was still doing it.

    There are data recovery programs out there that will do the job. Have a look in a few retailers and I'm sure you'll find one suitable. The only downside for you is you'll have to pay for it.
