Mouse & keyboard locked out

Can anyone advise me as to what is/was causing my keyboard and mouse to be locked out whilst being on the internet using IE6?

I was using the bog standard mouse but have since changed it to an optical USB mouse. Since doing this the problem has 'gone'.

Try reinstalling IE6 or alternatively windows (shove it over the top of the install you have now). Also scan for viruses.

I tried reinstalling IE6 & WIN98 to no avail. I searched for viruses and spyware, still didnt make any difference.

The web page it freezes vary too from MSN.CO.UK to JOBSERVE.CO.UK (just in case you think its on a porn page!)

What programs do you have running in the background?
Have you modified your msconfig/startup?
What are your PC specs?
Can you use the mouse in other programs while you are on the internet?

Aha I am back now.

Cirrus9, usually I am running just the firewall (Sygate) and a AV program.

I have since installed a USB optical mouse and the problem has vanished!

Have you downloaded and installed the latest drivers?

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
