    \\<servername>\$ipc is an Administrative share. It's automatically using the Username that is supplied from the computer trying to access that share all it wants is your password. If no joy create a username and password on the 98 machine that is the same as the one on the 2k3 box.

    Domain controllers do not allow users to logon locally to the computer. Users actually logon to the domain. Workstations and servers have their own accounts database, thus users can be granted permission to logon locally, as well as the domain.

    Well by going to the Remote Desktop Connection program it should say &quot;computer&quot; in the section to type the IP addy and if you click the arrow to bring the drop box down it should say &quot;Browse for Computers&quot;, why not click that and browse the network to see exactly how it uses...

    Also, have you checked your HOSTS file located in %windir%\system32\drivers\etc folder. Make sure there isn't an Entry in there for Google or Yahoo.
