Here is my problem. Google and Yahoo will not open in internet explorer. Get paged cannot be displayed. Here is what I've done.

-connection is good, can get on any other sites
-rebooted router and cable modem for good measures
-can ping both sites no problem
-can tracert both sites no problem too of course
-I can telnet to both and get header info
-even used netcat and can also get the header info
-did a repair on IE, but installing the IE.inf file, copies over the files from CD and rebooted
-using Mozilla Firebird right now and google and yahoo work no problem
-uninstalled Java runtime for the hell of it and still no go

I thinks that's most if it off hand, so it's a browser problem in my opinion however a repair didn't fix it either. Oh and no the router is not blocking those sites, and internet options all look good and not going through any proxies. Haven't changed anything out of the ordinary. Also something I just noticed, if I go start search....the search initial window opens however it's blank, even if I go into windows explorer and hit search that doesn't work either. Oh checked for viruses too while I was at it and nothing, clean as a whistle. I'm a little baffled by this one, never seen such a thing....perhaps someone can help me out?

Also, have you checked your HOSTS file located in %windir%\system32\drivers\etc folder. Make sure there isn't an Entry in there for Google or Yahoo.
