If you want RF (Radio Frequency), use fiber optics!!! Then, you are not limited by length or other copper problems...
Unless you want to construct a wave guide, lol... When the frequencies get that high, it does not make sense to use copper or WIFI, if you want any kind of performance!

More bad information going around! Category rated cable has nothing to do with POTS/PSTN service. It never has! It has no effect on how the line operates... The Category rating of cable ONLY applies to data in the form of Ethernet, Token Ring, and FDDI LAN technologies on twisted pair cable...
You might also contact the AHJ, Authority Having Jurisdiction, or local inspector for guidance to make sure it is NEC compliant. It would not hurt to verify the integrity of the 70 year old service ground either. Things can get loose over time!
Hope this helps!

What happened to all the Panasonic gurus? Are they all on vacation?
I should have had a useful answer by now! I guess I'll have to tell the client they made a bad choice in a phone system...

Hi Otoni,
Thanks for the response, but the DISA AA Wait Time settings have nothing to do with the BV OGM! Why?
1. The call hasn’t even been answered yet.
2. I never mentioned DISA anything in my post.
Maybe I presented the description wrong. So lets try this another way.
• The...
Hi DAJOHNSO,
The reason this occurs is because the line bridging loss is additive with analogue lines, especially if your lines are far from the CO. The solution is to add the 3-WAY Calling feature on your lines. Then, when you want to have a conference call with outside parties, you will use...
Setting up a new KX-TA824 for a client. The TA824 is equipped with both the KX-TA82491 Message Expansion Card and the KXTA82492 2-Channel Voice Message Card. The client wants to use the BV OGM to pretty much act as an answering machine for two lines with a 30 second delay before picking up the...
If the CIX has software to support the proper bit signaling on the DS1 channels, then it might work. It would depend on which end has the PLAR functionality on the DS1. I don't know if the CIX software for the DS1 circuit has such software. One end of the circuit would be an FXS function or if...
None of the Logic 10 or Logic 20 key telephone sets had electronic ringers. They all had C4A ringers just like 2500 sets. They are designed for the 1A2 KTS. That knob near the front of some Logic 10 or 20 phones is not a "nozzle" lol! It does not run on water!! The "knob" operates a switch for...
I have a client with a BCM50, don't know the SW version, they want to add MOH to it. Are the MOH options on the BCM50 the same as the NORSTARs? I tried to find the info in the BCM50 Telset Admin Guide, but it only shows the flow chart to get to the feature, not the options available. On the old...
A company called ILSCO has an oxide inhibitor product called DE-OX. It is available in various container types and sizes. I use it for all types of electrical connections and terminations. It should be useful in a coastal ocean environment. It is good for copper or aluminum conductors.

I just Googled EXECUTONE ECLIPSE MANUALS, and got a list of results. Some are for free, others for a fee. Did you try this search method?
Hope this helps!

Another option would be a busy study from the phone company or service provider depending on the provider's knowledge and expertise. Busy studies can provide very useful information during the course of the study. It can be 7x24 or 8x5 for the period selected. Peg counts by the hour, overflows...
It could be a wiring or cable problem. When DROL runs the diagnostics, odd things on the port can trigger the system to disable the port. It could be something as simple as a bad line cord, that got damaged or caught in the desk drawer, for example. See if there are any common elements among the...
It has been a while since I serviced one of these, but the DS1 circuit should have an NIU at the MPOE where Telco hands off the DS1 to you, usually an 8 position modular jack(RJ48C or X) or a punch block, depending how the DS1 was ordered and installed. The NIU should have monitor jacks on it...
You can use MMC830 from any digital phone to change the IP address of the system, but remember to use MMC800 first to enable access to program. After the change is made reset the system for the new address to take effect. You can read the programming document for additional details...

Unless your location is very close to the CO, the effects of long copper loops can take its toll in the lower voice levels when bridging or switching calls through a phone system. Digital service will be much better in reducing transmission losses. Line amplifiers can work, but can complicate...
If it is only the main number that the system is forwarding, you might try adding the Call Forward feature on that line. Then you just forward that line to whatever number destination is required. If it is for after business hours, you would program it before leaving, and in the morning you...
How is this POTS line provisioned? Is it conventional copper, a loaded pair, non-loaded pair, from an ATA, derived from VOIP or SIP, from a channel bank? Or from a digital CO switch or a softswitch? More details are needed...

Hi DryAquaman,
So in changing the DS1 circuit format from ESF/B8ZS to D4/AMI, you would also change the Mitel's DS1 port parameters to match, correct? DS1 format errors can cause the types of problems described, but without a design layout record(DLR) or a circuit topology, it is hard to know...
