Hi all,
I'm running an internal network using ip(192.168.x.x) to a linksys router to a cox cable modem. I want to allow certain people to access my network, how do I do that?
What do I have to do to set it up, and what does the client have to do?
Cox didn't have any suggestions, and couldn't...
At the desktop when I highlight an icon then right click on it, an error window appears and the desktop disappears and reloads.
I cannot move, copy or delete a desktop icon. I have deleted exploere.exe and replaced the file several times. This process seem to work only once and it reverts back...

Bimbobo,
What I meant is correct. The Linksys Tech helped me re configure the Access point to link properly with the SB5100.
To access the WAP54G in a browser, try this address: 192.168.1.245
This is the factory default. I have had no problem with that.

yes to AdamBCohen,
I had lengthy conversations with both Motorola and Linksys. According to Motorola you can use both USB and Ethernet IF your ISP wants you to. There is a config file where your ISP can set that option. To your problem to change from USB to Ethernet, first; disconnect from ISP...
I need some help in resolving an issue with connecting a Linksys WAP54G Wireless AP to a Motorola Surfboard SB5100.
According to the documentation both the USB and the ethernet connection are valid.
I should be able connect a computer thru the USB to the SB5100, and also connect up to 32...

There is a possibility of a recovery, however, if the drive in question is in constant use, then the data has most likely been overwritten.
Installing W2K ntfs over a fat32 will restructure the the drive. [FAT file systems read and write differently than NTFS, also cluster size is different]...

In answer to your question, If the host is in standby or hibernation, then the wireless client acts like a network card. It has to wake up the host to transact business, if the host is not configured for 'wake-up' on lan, then the host will continue to 'sleep'.
Remember, the client computer on...
Cheaper suggesstion. Go purchase a Promise TX133 card.
Put your 40 gig on the first channel and disable the on board primary ide or use it for cdrom/dvd, etc. devices.
If the 40 gig drive is configured to to boot, then it will become your boot device. The promise card is about $33-$50 depending...

If you can hear the the head stack clicking and grinding sounds that means the heads have already touched the surface of the platters and made a ring in the platters.
Freezing causes moisture inside the drive, yep! I have seen it, and when it dries and the platters are not treated they...

From the W2k Server CD, go to \i386 in a dos box and run" winnt32 /cmdcons" This will install the recovery console as a second option on bootup.

The problem is not your external hard drive, it is the way XP sees the drive from its drivers.
What condition led to the crash of your PC?
Did you restore using the Dell Restore CD? If not, then remove all driver's pertaining to the external HDD, reboot and re install the drivers.

I not sure about the "reputable data recovery" service, however, from your description, those files should be recoverable barring any physical (mechanical) problems with the drive.
The so called 'demo' versions of data recovery software is not advisable as they are...

you didn't mention where the (qic) file was. I take that this is a MS backup file and not a tape format.
We have found that different MS os's write the qic format differently between the os's. There are variances. Since MS does not support the format there is very little information on...
