Does anyone know how to make it so each domain on the Enterprise server only sees address book entries for users within that email domain?

    Question about FortiNet

We arecurrently implimenting a Fortinet 3600. We have not yet completed the VPN portion of the install. But, all else seems to be going great. I would highly reccomend Fortinet as a vendor. They've been very responsive and helpful and their product seems to be doing all they claimed it would...

The Novice's Firewall, which is best?...

I would recommend Smoothwall unless you're looking to spend some cash. www.smoothwall.org The nice part is that you can use an old PC or server with little RAM and not such a fast CPU. Throw 2 NIC cards in it, download the .iso image from smoothwall and you'll be running very quickly. There...

    setting up strong passwords?

OK. This may be a simple one. But, My my question is: Is there a way to limit users on a unix system so they can't use their username as their password. I know there are other settings to restrict dictionary words and to require alphanumeric. But, I'm looking to specifically limit the...

    Redundant DHCP/TFTP Services

DHCP redundancy doesn't seem to be much of an issue. At least not for us. Phones are configured using MAC addresses. A good measure would be to set a long lease time. tyipcally, the DHCP server is loaded on the call manager anyway. So, if you lose DHCP, you may have bigger issues to deal...

I'm hoping that you found a solution by now. But, if not, reply to this and I'll send it to you. And, yes, this box is so rare that nobody has much info on it. It's also confused by alot of people with other versions/platforms of te Checkpoint Firewall. The Nokia is an odd bird with it's...

Looking for some info on video conferencing.

I agree. Polycom is the wayy to go for business appliances. Also, look out for QOS! You need to find a method of providing a clear path between the endpoints. One that is free of delay, errors, and bottlenecks. This sometimes means a dedicated curcuit. Cisco routers provide a great deal of...

    simple voice chat over internet

Another good resource is Open 323. They are shareware apps that include an SDK. Many additions and customizable components. Good start for building flexiblE APPS. They are available on most platforms and still under much development. http://www.openh323.org/ Good Luck!

    Video Conferencing

If you want to IP or ISDN into a conference, you can use Netmeeting to do this. If you dont have an ISDN connection, you may use a bridging service to connect to ISDN endpoints. IP to IP and ISDN to ISDN can usually be done without a bridge. Another good conferencing app is CUSee Me.

    MAX Connections - HELP!!!

once again, I really appreciate the help. But please, no more cut and pastes from posts. That's what's giving me the most trouble. For example, the line "connections = ... limit 50000 hashsize 65536" is obviously not the full or specific syntax. ... replaces some text and the rest...

    MAX Connections - HELP!!!

Now I'm really confused. I read in many articles/FAQs that adding the parameter of "limit" to the table.def file would work. Here's the line from ours. TCP_START_TIMEOUT expcall KFUNC_CONN_EXPIRE kbuf 1 limit 50000 hashsize 65536 The syntax was different in what I read. I tried...

    MAX Connections - HELP!!!

I am trying to configure our Checkpoint FW1 firewall (Nokia IP 400, IPSO). Right now the maximum # of connections is set to 25,000. I want to kick it up to 100,000. I tried to use the modzap util and it wouldn't work for some reason. Should I be able to edit the table.def file to achive...

When Should I Use Spanning Tree?

I'm not arguing with you. But, that does contradict almost every article I've read. It also seems to be the opinion of amny people here. Which may explain the LAN problems we are having lately. I dunno. Does anyone have another opinion?

When Should I Use Spanning Tree?

We have a pretty bust LAN here (traffic wise). We are trying to track down potential issues and I need some Spanning Tree advice. I'll start off by saying there are definitely NO loops in our network. Is there a standard for enabling or disabling spanning tree? Should it be used only on...

3524 XL Spanning-tree Port state disabled

I thought that was used to keep spanning tree on. But to use the portfast feature. Isn't the command for turning Spanning tree off: interface fastethernet0/1 no spanning-tree ? Sorry to add confusion.

    ISDN from ATT to MCI

I tried to use the prefixes. No luck. I am hoping to do this without adding more ISDN lines. I guess it may not be possible.
