try changing the fixup protocol dns maximum-length 512 to a larger amount like 4096 or just doing a no fixup protocol dns then test for awhile.! Jeff

I had this happen at a customers site it was because the guy who originally set the system up had done so with a diffrent ip subnet than what was currently being used. and when I looked at the reverse dns zone, it was for the old subnet. I deleted the zone and redid with the corret ip subnet...

on the pix try doing a no fixup dns for trouble shooting then if that works, I think it will. try changing the dns fixup to a larger value. Jeff

how many (tenants) vlans do you need.? PIX 6.3 now supports up to 8 or 10 vlans for the pix but that's probably not enough. I'd think you could turn the 6506 into a vlan routing machine but you may have to purchase a RSM if you don't already have I'm not sure I'd try the cisco switches forum...
