Avaya IP Office & Phone Manager on different subnets

We have an Avaya IP Office IP500 (software V4.1)that I recently moved to it's own subnet. The IP Office is on net 192.168.1.0/24 (IP Office assigned address 192.168.1.31). All the phones and voicemail server are on the same subnet and everything is working fine. From my PC on subnet...

Setting outgoing caller/station ID on T1s

Thinking a little more about how our old provider worked, I think they replaced invalid caller ID with the default for the trunk. Our new provider rejects the call. This allowed internal calls that were forwarded off switch to get the right caller ID, and all other calls to get our default...

Increasing the maximum recording length beyond 1 hour

I dont think either solves the 60 minute problem either (and they're not free). It isn't a big deal, just an annoyance... and I've added the one-button access. I'll try the registry hack and report back... I wouldn't be surprised if it's set back to 3600 if you ever go into the screen.

Setting outgoing caller/station ID on T1s

We've recently switched carriers and our new vendor does not allow us to set caller ID to any number other than the ones we own. This is somewhat inconvenient for forwarded call as you can't see the caller ID. Is this standard, or can I ask them to allow it?

Increasing the maximum recording length beyond 1 hour

We frequently record client interviews that exceed 3600 seconds (1 hour). Asking users to restart the "record" session after an hour is inconvenient--and they often forget. Is there any way to increase the limit beyond 3600 seconds. It's not space issue as we have a ton of space available on the...

Strange Analog Noise on Call Pickup with Verizion FIOS Analog

Did you try asking verizon to turn of the caller id?

Comcast "PRI" service with IP Office & IP Phones

Is anyone using the new Comcast service that delivers a T1/PRI handoff? This is not an internet service, but they use the coax to their headend and then connect to their CO switch. The price is remarkably attractive as they already are delivering way more bandwidth than they need over the...

Strange Analog Noise on Call Pickup with Verizion FIOS Analog

Are you sure this isn't the caller ID being delivered? Caller ID is delivered between the 2nd and 3rd (or 1st and 2nd) ring using old fashion 300 baud modem technology. Try haveing them disable caller id.

Moving Away from IPO to Asterisk -- WAN IPO connectivity

I agree that the basic admin for IPO is easy and the documentation (and help) is some of the best in the business. Stuff like adding a user or even admining VM is easy. My point was that you're still dependent on a BP for anything complex like licensing, hardware or upgrades, so you're still...

Moving Away from IPO to Asterisk -- WAN IPO connectivity

Here’s my $0.02 worth from the end-user perspective. The advantages of the IP Office is that you have a dedicated box that is pretty rock solid as a phone system. If you need high-end call center features you’re probably better off with IP Office. However, IP Office makes it really hard to...

Replacement powersupply for IPOffice 500 V1

If that's the case, perhaps someone could point me to a source with a spare power supply for an IP Office 500V1 that they'd like to sell. Grumble, grumble... I wish Avaya was less custom parts and used standard parts (and even more so, if dual power supplies like in a server were available)...

Replacement powersupply for IPOffice 500 V1

The power supply on our IP Office 500 recently failed and I'd like to keep a spare in house for fast replacement. The power supply is a Power One model 3F84-08-01 (custom labeled as Avaya PN 46YPW0002UKAA) which appears to be no longer available. Are replacement units available for this device...

Getting a 5610 to reload its firmware (I think)

On our IP Office 500 we have about 50 5610 phone. Everything is fine except for one phone which recently stopped working. When I plug the bad phone in, it displays: Initializing... Loading: N secs x10d0102824.bin, 1572 KB Starting... Then I just get flashing lights between speaker...

IP Office VM server with multiple NICs

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried it this morning. NIC 1: IP: 192.168.10.34 (the address I use for the VM server) Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.10.1 DNS: 192.168.10.47 NIC 2: IP: 192.168.10.33 Mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: blank DNS: 192.168.10.47 When I connected NIC...

IP Office VM server with multiple NICs

I recently switched our IP Office 500 Voice Mail pro server to a new computer. The new server (a very nice Dell PowerEdge) has 2 gigabit NICs. I want to assign the 2 NICs to different IP addresses and use one address for the VM server and the other for some miscellaneous applications that I’d...

IP Office 406 planned obsolescence trap? Help pls

I'd go with the used handset option... this solves your immediate problem relatively cheaply and requires almost no time on your side. Besides the considerable cost of upgrading (at least mega new licensing), training, testing, installation and likely new hardware, if the system is meeting your...

    sysMonitor (trying to connect)

The problem was specific to that user's registry key HCU>Software>Avaya>IP400>Sys Monitor. I don't know what was damaged with the key, but a deleted (actually just renamed) the Sys Monitor key. When I started Sys Monitor it created a new key and the application works fine. As far as I could...

    sysMonitor (trying to connect)

It's running on Windows Server 2003 R2. I have the identical version of sysmonitor software running on a different machine also running Server 2003 R2. (Only difference I can think of is that I've applied on the MS updates on the new machine.) I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the...

    sysMonitor (trying to connect)

Two more bits of information... I've confirmed that user KL is in the adminstators group, and the same user has no problem running System Status or Manager. Also, I've temporarily turned off the firewall so that isn't the issue. Ken
