Netmeeting Win XP pro sharing application grayed out

do you have any "security" programs like zone alarm or Norton Internet security? These can sometimes be overzealous. Try disabling if you do have one installed.

    Add/Remove Programs list empty

The list of programs as usually appears is not there, the window just sits there, empty. Unticking the show updates does nothing. XP Pro, SP2, all updated. I don't use system restore, and this has been around for a while anyway.

DOS Command to check WAN I.P. Address

My users will keep the icon as it makes life easier for them when they need to get the IP for me over the phone. I already know of the websites that tell you the I.P. The VERY point of this posting was to get a desktop shortcut created. Which has been achieved. Thanks.

DOS Command to check WAN I.P. Address

bcastnet, thanks for your super VB trick. This will do me beautifully! mhkwood, the reason I want it in a command or VB format is so I can save it on my customers' desktops. This would in turn save me talking them through getting the IP from a website, which would only confuse some of the...

DOS Command to check WAN I.P. Address

Hi, Does anyone know of a command that can be used to check the WAN I.P Address, assigned or static, from ISP? For example: I have a router which assigns addresses in the 192.168.x.x range. My ISP, gives me an I.P. in the 80.x.x.x range. With ipconfig on any LAN machine, i can get it's I.P...

issue with ghost 9.0 and Windows XP

    Shortcut to make system Hibernate

Hi, Using the "shutdown -s" command, i can create a shortcut with icon to click that will shut down the computer. I can also do a restart, adn lock computer shortcut. Is there a way to do the same for hibernating the computer? Or a 3rd party applet that will enable this? Thanks.

Toshiba Laptop rebooting during Norton Antivirus install

have you run a pre-install scan of the system to ensure it's not already infected with a virus? Also, try copying the installation to the hard drive, so that the CD drive is NOT used while installing. It may be a power issue, but you would experience that with other CDs if that was the...

    Upgrade from 2000 to 2003

No, that doesn't start either. Similar error, except it can't tell me why it wasn't able to start. I had a look at all the dependencies for all the non started exchange services, and tried to start each of them in different order, but none work. I am going to try and install service pack 1, and...

    Upgrade from 2000 to 2003

Sorry, you're right, I couldn't be more vague than that! Could not start the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service on local computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start. When I first went into Internet Services Manager, there were red stop signs next to the 3...

Upgraded to Exchange 2003 SP2, now SMTP doesn't work!

MORE THAN LIKELY: Your mail is being rejected by the 3rd party email server, because it thinks your server is sending spam. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS: The email comes from supposedly yourdomain.com, but it's actually travelled through isp.com's servers, so is yourdomain.com trying to "relay" the...

    Upgrade from 2000 to 2003

I have a single server at home running Windows 2000 Server (SP4). It had Exchange 2000 running on it. A couple of days ago I popped in the Exchange 2003 CD. It asked to upgrade the ADC connector, run forestprep and domain prep. All ran fine. Finished the upgrade process, as far as the disk...
