Hi,

Using the "shutdown -s" command, i can create a shortcut with icon to click that will shut down the computer. I can also do a restart, adn lock computer shortcut.

Is there a way to do the same for hibernating the computer?
Or a 3rd party applet that will enable this?

Thanks.

warning! some machines do not play nice with hibernate!
have had more than my share of dell & compaq laptops that did not like to return from hibernate.

What does this command do? I see it mentioned in some links.

rundll32 Powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState

I did try it on a Vista machine, it powered down and when I rebooted it said it was "Resuming Windows..."

If it works for you, just stick the command line in the "Target" of a Shortcut.

linney, that shortcut is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thank you very much! [2thumbsup]
