Hi,
Our users use remote desktop through pptp from home, asa result PC's are never turned off.
I'd like a Wake on LAN solution that allows users to wake up PC's that they have permssion to wake up through pptp.
Could some recommned some enterpise WOL soultions?

I use websense, but your firewall may have an option to do web filtering.
The watchguards, have the option to do web content filtering, if you buy the addtional license.
It is cheaper than websense. We found with the old version the reporting wasn't good enough. But we have not tried the...
I didn't load WinPcap, i set the NIC in Promiscuous mode by removing the Internet protocol from the NIC properties.
I am using websense 6.3, and a netgear switch, the soruce port plugs to the core switch - LAN traffic comes from
the monitoring/sniffer port and is plugged into the monitor...
Hi,
It depends on the devices you are using.
If i am at home with my laptop and i enable my mobile user VPN from the laptop to works firewall, i cannot then connect another laptop in my house to works firewall.
Because works firewall will see both laptops coming from the same gateway IP/my...
If all your netgear does is give you internet access, can you replace it with a speed touch that does "public adressing without NAT" - speed touch 510
You would need two public IP addresses one for the speed touch and one for the router.
Then the Cisco router could create VPN's through the...
We are using logshipping and log file names are in the format yyyymmddhhmmss.trn but the time the file was created is say 9:45 but the file name is 2008100184500.trn

Do You have the lastest updates for 10d?
If you go to help, about, installed updates, run Veritas update.
Also when you update BE i think you then have to re-push the remote installation.
Also could you check windows event log for specif errors or do the service just fail?
I agree with Shackdaddy, check your driver's first. I had an issue with the network drivers and the RAID drivers.
Since then HP brought out a list of sp2 compatable drivers:

Hi,
The consultants that are currenlty implementing SAP for my company have offered for us to go to another company (that they did the installation for) to see it for our selves.
The consultancy firm should be working for your business, ask them to arrange a visit...
I think safety in numbers ask another manager do go with you to expalin it to her, hearing it from more than one person (especialy not the person who has the access may help)
I also explain that the reason IT have access to all data is to scan it for virus's and keep HER data safe. Also for...
Also after my restore of windows 2003 r2 using asr it turned on windows firewall, this is a known bug.
It was easy was no problem to turn if off again, just need to be aware. As none of the users could access the server.
I would definatly test your ASR if possible.
I use vertias IDR for some servers and ASR for others (due to cost of veritas) I much prefer vertias, but i have tested restoring my servers with ASR successfully.
One thing i wasn't excepting with ASR was that you must put your scsi drivers on to floppy disk as well ( i backup to tape at night...
could also delete the xlb file (excel default sheet) you need to search in hidden files and folders.
If you log into the PC does the same thing happen under your logon?
Thanks for the warning.
I have installed SP3 on my Sony Intel core 2 duo, with out any problems and i was about to begin testing on the HP amd turion.
