Thanks for your input. The pc will boot up and run fine. It just will not re-boot after installing for example, windows updates. Windows wants you to re-boot your pc, I tell it yes to re-boot. It shows it is shutting down and turns black, and doesn't come back on.

I have a couple of computers with the same optical mouse. One is plugged in the USB port and the other using PS/2 port. I do not see a difference. Seems you can go either way unless you have more USB devices than you do USB ports.

When you go to upgrade the W2k, make sure you have the drivers for the correct bios and compliation ie.. 1.06 Rev 35 place the drivers on a floppy disk and when w2k requests you to specify the drivers tell it yes. They have to be on the floppy drive ONLY!! !
