There is no XP Home forum here, so I figured this forum is the closest match.

Go into disk manager.
If you cannot see the additional unallocated space on the new physical disks, refer to my first response.

Did you try using a shorter cable yet? Did you try sharing it from another computer to see if it exhibits the same problems?

make sure you have a free AGP or PCI slot for the new video card, then read some reviews for video cards at an online vendor that sells computer parts, and lets buyers leave reviews.
No better way to make a decision than to read what people have to say about the product you are considering.

I have noticed a little bug in Windows where sometimes the sound somehow gets reversed; for example if you look at the checkbox on the volume where it says "mute" it may be clear, but the computer thinks it's set to mute. Sometimes simply checking that box, clicking on the desktop, then...
I agree with wolluf..set the drive as a slave to another bootable drive, and copy your important data NOW. Then do what you gotta do...perhaps reinstall Win98...that used to be a weekly ritual around my house!

What do you mean "it won't let me" reinstall Windows 98? In time I spent with Windows 98, I found that reinstalling was usually quicker than trying to pinpoint some obscure problem (although the challenge of bailing yet another flopped Windows 98 installation out of trouble is fun...for a...
Not sure what firewall software you are using, but not all of them allow networking by default. If you are unsure about what a process is, you can do a google search and you will soon learn what those processes are, and that they are to be expected. And as far as your firewall is concerned...
Correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe that partitions/drives larger than 137 GB require Windows 2000 SP3 or higher,XP SP1 or higher, or an ATA 133 card...

Zmr,
Thanks alot for that! The resolution apparently is a simple update to the Jet database engine. So I guess I can use the autonumber for my recognition, but thanks to you, I won't have the problem described.

This might sound silly, but are you sure the "integrated lan" in the BIOS is enabled? I can't see any reason why Windows wouldn't even detect it unless it was completely disabled in the BIOS. You don't need drivers for Windows to at least know it's there. If it was detected at all but didn't...
Zmr,
I use Access 2003, but OK, thanks for the tip, i'll look that up to see what the problem is with it...

Hmm..see the problem there is that they also for some unknown reason change some of the addresses as well by abbreviating terms like street, lane etc. These people really make it hard for us to use this data when it returns. I see where you are going with it though. I think I should be able to...
Firstly, I should have stated I am using Access 2003 with the service pack applied.
Yes, the name and address fields together would make it unique, however for the sake of printing mailing labels from the records, the name really needs to be split into firstname, middle, lastname. The whole...
I have spent the last two weeks reading and trying to find a way to do this. Having said that here's the question.
Table 1 is filled with data and sent to another company with the telephone field blank. This other company fills in the phone numbers for the records they have numbers for, and...
Hi all,
Great site, just signed up. I have accomplished an astounding feat in pulling ALL of my hair out tonight trying to solve a problem with my new Hp PSC 1315xi 3 in 1 printer.
Here's the problem. I am trying to print Avery business cards, but the back of the paper seems to be a bit...
