Is the batch process defined as a resource in a cluster group?
If YES, then the cluster service should start it up again on the other node and the process can do its thing of finding where it left off and continuing.
If NO, then I would expect it to fail and not automatically restart. You...
W2K SP2 2-node cluster for Exchange 5.5 SP4 on Dell 2450's connected to Dell 650F via dual Brocade 2400. I am rebuilding this guy now, so it is pre-production and Exchange is not yet installed due to the problem described below.
Disk configuration went great: RAID1 for Quorum (Q:), RAID1 for...
W2K SP2 cluster service on two identical Dell 2450's connected to a Dell 650F disk subsystem connected Brocade 2800 fiber channel switches.
I have the cluster service installed on both nodes. Core cluster resources are in the default Cluster Group:
Cluster IP Address

Have and Outlook Security packs been install on clients. MS has screwed around with those extensions of SR-1 so much it is very hard to figure out which one(s) are right for a desried implementation. One or more of them has the ability to "secure" Outlook in such a way that...
From your questions, I assume that you are starting from a a single server Exchange org. Have you looked at the upgrade docs at www.microsoft.com/exchange? Are your current Exchange 5.5 mailboxes owned by SAM accounts or AD accounts?
If it is not too late, put the new server on the network...
If you need any of the features of E2K that are not in 5.5, you have your answer. Otherwise, yes, 5.5 uses less system resource than E2K.
How big is you information store going to get and how many Exchange user accounts? Like all Win apps, Exchange loves RAM. If you can put more RAM in this...
This server does not have to be a dc.
Someone with more experience than I on E2K will have to help with the client connection woe. Exchange services start OK?

Trying to make the Interorg Synchronization Tool (version 1.2.0.360 from BORK 4.5) work between two sites, but the GAL on both ends is not displaying any updates. Have redone the install and config very carefully twice to no avail. Master server is Enterprise Exchange 5.5 SP4 on clustered W2K...
Yes, sort of. Ex2K uses Active Directory for its accounts. There are no Exchange accounts distinct from NT accounts. Thus, you have to have AD up and running. AD can run in "mixed mode" in a domain with AD and NT domain controllers. So, not only do you need Ex2K, but you need a...
Did either of you ever have any luck with finding the latest copy of the InterOrg Synch Tool? Q250578 says that the latest is now 1.2.378.
Did you ever get it to work? I am in the same situation as Vadim at...
Dan (and others),
I will run it tonight, but I need to inform management if we are at risk of loosing mail as a result of running the fix PRIV.EDB.

Due to some weird things happening on clients and due to failed PRIV.EDB backups (using Legato Networker Module for Exchange) I have just finished running several iterations of ESEUTIL /G and ISINTEG -TEST. I have encountered no errors, but have many warnings. I do not know how to interpret...
Don't you wish you could pull some questions back.
In case anyone else ever has the same brain lapse, you have to check one of the options under the "Restore to" field in order to activate the "Restore to" field.

Running Exch 5.5 SP4 on W2K SP2 server in native mode W2K domain. I am attempting to restore the IS to a different server. For reasons that I won't bore you with, the backup that I want to use for the restore was made with NTBACKUP to a file on the production server disk subsystem. Everything...
Ran into this once and was not able to completely figure it out, but I did run across an MS Q Article that said this can happen in some situations after a delegate is removed. Can't remeber all the details. Check out Q253557. Might be what is going on.
