    Grey Wall in Internet Explorer

    When I start internet explorer the screen is completely grey. I can see all toolbars etc but the browser window is covered. When I right click the grey wall type thing I get the option to close when I click close the screen goes back to normal! What is happening, it is very bizarre?

    Impossible to Solve - No one will know this!

    I have a Win98 machine which works fine, but everytime I start up I get a message box which says "Could not call Javahook API" the only option is to click OK. That's all there is no weird programs running, nothing in startup that shouldn't be, just a complete mystery.

    Have a look if you have a directory windows/option/cabs This is a copy of windows which is kept on your hard drive, you may be able to re-install your sound files from here.

    Reinstall windows or find the said files on your windows cd and copy them back to where you deleted them from. Hope this helps.

    In quarantine there should be the option to erase it. Have you done a full scan of your system? If not Norton may have just picked up the executable part of the virus, while the payload is still resident on your system i.e. registry changes etc. Do a full scan and see what happens, shouldn't...

    You can but the Music part of the CD will not work in a normal CD player. It will however work in your PC. WinOnCD 3.7 is good if you can get it.
