Veritas currently have DMP in beta at the moment with Foundation Suite for Linux v2.0. Once released Q2/Q3 it will probably work out cheaper than Compaq or any other Hardware vendors solutions!!!

Hi,
Im looking for some help.
I want to be able to replicate a notes database from serverA to ServerB so if serverA goes down serverB will takeover the database. I have no shared storage so I guess clustering is out of the solution. Is there a guide which explains how this task should be done...
With Veritas Cluster Server this is not the case. You can fail to system b with no problems once system a has had the OS installed and is ready to host the Oracle DB then you can manually failback the Oracle instance back to system A.
Also VCS is fully supported with Oracle and they are...
Im writing a paper on various Backup software, and I need comments from users in the field on TSM.

maybe take a look at IP based replication software. you could use that to get your data over to the server and then go through the process of checking databases before you brought the new server online ?
we currently use it for about 3000 laptops. its beats the competition with its reporting and general admin features. and best of all even our sales guys can use it. we chose it because of its ease of use and also the integration into NBU.
mmmm..... Redhat 7.1 is supported and they are testing 7.2 now if you want a pdf I have one regarding the install and push of netbackup clients for Linux
We use netbackup Pro and it works a treat. The single instance is a bonus on space and the new release 3.5 is even better. we tested other solutions but this one really works
Thanks for your reply.
There was a reason why FTEdit didnt work for me the first time. Ive found why the changes where not being kept. someone had changed the permissions for the administrator and did not allow them full control.
(too many cooks!!!)
thanks anyway.
I tried to use the FTEdit program at first although this does show the Signature it does not allow the changing of its values. any other ideas ??
thanks
Does anyone know if you can change the NT Disk signature via the use of a utility. The reason being I have numerous servers and all Signatures are the same because the Servers were created with Imaging software.
I need the Signatures to be different for something that I am doing.
Thanks
