How many computers on the network, and do they have static IP address? ping address for connectivity, and make sure there is a shared directories, If a network domain is running make sure machines are logging into the domain controller before trying to connect to other machines.

It more than likely has an on alarm in the CMOS settings as well, I would go there and check for it. If you notice, it's probably coming on at the same times
sounds like your on a network domain sometimes, If so log onto the domain, and install, once your pc logs onto a domain, admin rights shifts to domain controller.
You might want to verify the protocols that you are using, make sure that your only using one on the modem which should be TCP, not netbios, or ipx/spx. I found that If all are running on the modem settings, there will be times that the modem gets confused about what protocol it should use...
That one sounds software related, I once had that problem with win2k, and pcanywhere, said something about video compatibility, which related to the software adjusting to the video driver, time for a sanity check, what software had you loaded previous to the problem?

Yea, that sounds about right, although you might want to try to get into system on a safe mode, and remove the video drivers that way, and let the system find them again before the re-install. If you can't get in on safemode, do the install

I know the rev is A02, the 7C2C901-D35B. I tried PMR's fix, but it did not work for the Inspiron, so I'm back to the drawing board, although I will go back to the originating site of the software.

First check to make sure your Fan to the CPU is moving when you start the PC, second go to CMOS. and slow down your memory to the slowest nano seconds you can, or slow default and see If it crashes then, If that doesn't work chances are it's your memory.
