You can monitor the analog set from an IP set but the analog set cannot monitor an IP Set. This is documented by Avaya and not supported. The phone that is being monitored has to be either a analog or digital NOT an IP set.
You have to make sure that the Ethernet port on the Lan switch is set to 100/half if it is not you will have echo issues. The more IP calls in progress the more echo. We have several all IP sites running with out any issues.
That setting is under user telephoney, how ever they must be setup as agents or Hot desk users.

Not if you want to use it as a BLF (busy Lamp Field). You can program it as a speed dial but you wont know if they are on the phone or not. Depending on howmany people you vae you can have the left side as BLf and teh right button as intercom
