Thank you for replying. It wound up being a combination between the ink station and the ink delivery system. This machine is complete garbage and I cannot wait until they stop coming in for repair.

I printed out a diag and the ext diag test sheet and it only recognizes the black. Will print everything in black. Any ideas. Some printheads and ink are brand new. Any help would be great. Thanks, Bacardi

Depends. If you print, say 75% bw, then I'd suggest getting a HP 4100, 4200 (recommended) ($1000-1200) and then maybe a HP 5100-5650 color ink jet ($100-150). If you print 50-50 then I'd suggest a HP 4600 laser color ($1800-2200). If you get a laser color you really need to make sure you use...

If you go to START, PRINTERS/FAXES, scroll through the list of installed printers. Hover the mouse over the driver and make sure it says ready. If it doesnt then right click that printer icon and click to enable printer online. I hope I am helping and not making things worse. Bacardi

Sounds like the driver on the pc is marked as offline. Try going to the driver on the pc and right clicking to enable online. Or there is a duplicate driver and its trying the offline driver. Only reason I'm suggesting is because this happened to me before. Hope you figure it out soon!

Its possible it could be a damaged tray coupler. Also you may want to look at the paper feed assy that sits in front of registration and whichever tray it is that jams pickup assy. You also may want to use the advice from the above reply as well.

Thanks for your input. We talked to HP and they say it is due to a faulty clutch on the tray 3 p/u assy and to also replace the paper feed rollers. Thanks, Bacardi

WOW, I did'nt even think to suspect the transfer roller being missing. I wouldnt have even thought toner would have been distibuted. Glad you found out!

Make sure you pulled the ribbon from the new cartridge. If you did, try looking in the settings and see if you have Economode ON. If not, and you pulled the ribbon, toner dust might have been blown in the laser. Let me know what worked.
