    Terminal Server Licensing

You are using temporary lics... These expire in 90 days. Buy and install regular lics :-)) check the number of regular lics you have, maybe you are out of lics. SEE below for more info about lics; move a call to different pc...

    Proxy Servers

If you are using w2k with AD, you can use the security policy to accomplish this (there is a setting for it). If not, it is just a change of a couple of registry keys. On a workstation, fill in a dummyname for proxy and after that, search for this name in the registry. You can also use a tool...

    Terminal Services (2k Server)

Fully agree with the things mentioned above. If bandwith becomes a problem, use citrix (ICA protocol instead of RDP). Citrix gives TS more functionality and uses the ICA protocol, which uses less bandwith (14-20k) per session. Regards, Ferdinand

    Win 2000 RIS???

If you have a lot of the same workstations (hardware) then i advice using GHOST (it is faster to roll-out). When not, use RIS. Building the ris image for your network (including adding APPS etc.) is very time consuming (when you want to do it right the first time). Take your time for this...

Can't acces Domain or local domain

Three options you could check; - try typing the password in CAPITALS (just a guess) - open the security policy (GPO) that applies to the desktop and add the username to the group that may "logon interactively". - try moving the pc object (in AD) to a place where no policies are applied...

Upgrading an NT Domain to a 2000 Domain

Both solutions mentioned above work. you could use a third alternative, which has the advantages of both mentioned above, but not the disadvantages; take a tempory machine (relatively new desktop for example), install NT4 as BDC, promote to PDC, upgrade to W2K and AD. Take the new server...

    DHCP problem

Seems dhcp is no longer starting automatically on your server. Try starting the DHCP services manual from "services" (you probably allready tried..?). Try rebooting the machine and see if the problem still exists. If you know the settings (ip-ranges etc.) that were configured in...

    Block program installs

You could try Active directory policies (GPO's) to establish this (lockdown the desktop, no access to DOS/add remove programs, screen settings, etc. etc.), but it has to be said that when a user is a local admin, he can do a lot of damage, without you doing much about it..... If you really want...

Thanks for your answers about the account problem in the exchange agent, it really helped us..! After logging in with the right useraccount to configure the Agent, we had to do two extra things in order to get a connection between the backupserver and the agent. - adding the "domain...

Cannot Add new Users on Domain Controller.

Hi, I assume you are talking about W2K? A DC under W2K can have a couple of roles (first DC) (so called FSMO roles). in this case i think you lost one or more of these roles when your harddisk crashed.... This role normally takes care of useraccounts. check the microsoft site for "fsmo...
