Hi all,
all of sudden my Domain controller (W2K adv. Server) which is a DHCP server too, is experiencing this problem:
Error Message - CANNOT FIND THE DHCP SERVER
The Dhcp server you specified cannot be located. The DHcP server might be down, there might be network problems or the Dhcp service might not be installed
The error was: The DHCP Server is not running on the target computer
below are the error messages displayd in the event viewer:
Source: Service Control Manager
Event ID 7022
The DHCP Server service hung on starting.
****************************************************************
Source: Perflib
Event ID 2002
The open procedure for service "PerfDisk" in DLL "D:\WINNT\System32\perfdisk.dll" has taken longer than the established wait time to complete. There may be a problem with this extensible counter or the service it is collecting data from or the system may have been very busy when this call was attempted.
****************************************************************
In the services console, the DHCP server service are displayed the following setting
Status: Starting
Startuo Type: Automatic
Log on As: Local systems
What can I do to solve this problem? Thanks in advance
Leonardo
