    I was able to install v10 and it kept all my v9.1 jobs and histories. Just install it on the same server and specify to backup the previous instance. I was informed to also backup the data and catalogs directories in c:\program files\veritas\backupexec\ just in case, but it all worked out okay.

    Ive not used a script but have successfully done the export/import. If i remember it stops and starts the firewall services so it may not work in a script.

    I have seen this before and it was because the firewall object has been created as a host and not a gateway object. If this is the case you should be able to simply right click the object and select 'convert to gateway...' then follow the wizzrd or prompts. Let me know if this is the case...
