I am new to the wireless world. I currently run Checkpoint NG firewall with secureremote client. Currently all of my clients use a network connection to a cable or dsl modem. The VPN works fine. I have a new user that wants to get wireless at home for their cable. I find I can install the vpn against the wireless adaptor/protocols (I can see it binding), so I believe this will work. I have no way of testing it, until I get the wireless connection in place. My question: will this work? thank you

I have not tried this myself, however I did read on the Phoneboy site that wireless SR does work, there are some issues depending on the type of WAP used. Specifically some Lynksis routers required a firmware upgrade due to the way it encapsulated ethernet frames, this was only inherent using wireless, the wired ports worked fine.

Thank you for the response. Everything I read tells me it should work. I found a few articles on Checpoint's site. The real test will be when I get the wireless network in place.

I use a Draytek Vigor 2600we (512k DSL) from home using a Cisco 802.11 a/b/g card running SecureClient and it works great. I have had no problems with it... I have also used a Dlink Air Plus Extreme G+ with the same router and that works great too. In both cases I am using the standard WEP encryption on the Vigor (probably overkill considering the AES-256 encryption that Secureclient is using) but I do have my desktop PC residing on the same LAN which doesn't have SecureClient. I have also configured up the Vigor Firewall which is very effective and doesn't appear to interfere with the VPN traffic at all. I use the connection a fair amount, sometimes 8 hours a day and it has never dropped off. All in all a content wireless user!

Thank you to all that responded. I had a successful test this past weekend and a very happy user!
