Help please server keeps on restarting

Although this may be a virus, did anyone actually read the error message? Blaster gives a NT Authority\System shutdown message and can usually be resolved, this sounds more like an issue with a corrupt registry: See the following articles...

    Trust Relationship Problem

One possible reason for this is duplicate SIDS in your domain. If the Pc was cloned with the PC in your domain and you placed that image on your PC, 2 PC's would have duplicate SID's and that is what probably caused the problem. I would recommned that you either do 1 of 2 things in the future 1)...

Unable to access Alias or Virtual Name

Although I thought that corrupt user profiles could be the cause of this, wouldn't logging onto other PC's (ones that have never been logged onto before)dismiss the corrupt user profile issue? I will however try this, thanks for the response. By the way, I also tried the net view /sharename...

Also check the Computer Account in the Active Directory Directory Users and Computers Account. It sounds like the Computer account is locked. If it is (It will have a red X next to the name), reset the account and try the above suggestions of chnaging the PC name and re-adding back into the...

    Proceesor upgrade & Win2K

I don't think re-installing windows would make any difference. As you stated, just installing the necessary drivers would be needed.

    Lock down Windows 2000?

You can also try Group Policy. You can prohibit certain functions from being done on the workstation such as changing the time and wallpaper. Ajaxr77's suggession of placing the users in the 'Users' group is also a great idea. To access the group policy, Go to Start>Run and type in gpedit.msc

    Confused!?

Do you enforce password restrictions, ie: changing passwords every 30,45 or 60 days? If so, is his password about to expire, does he see a password will expire in x days message? If so, have him change the domain password or reset his domain password. I have seen a similar issue here and it took...
