I Cloned the hard disk for Windows 2000 profesional SP 4
After I had some problem on the my machine I tried to connect the cloned drive on to my workstation. Now I can join the domain successfully but when I try to log in I get the message " The Trust relationship between the workstation & the Primary Domain failed". Few times I tried to rejoin the domain and then log in I get the same message I have reapplied the service pack 4. We have a Windows 2000 server SP 4/ Exchange 2000 and a Novell 5 Server. I can connect to exchange 2000 & Windowss 2000 server and access my email can Browse the domain server but the server cannot connect to this workstation the is error. "Logon failure: "The target account name is incorrect".

Your machine IP and ID doen't match what is on the server.
You will have get your account updated.

How to get the Account updated

Remove the machine account from the Domain.
Wait 30 minutes.
Re-add the machine account.

I have already done that but always added within 5 Minutes but I wll try 30 min this time
Thanks

Thanks the problem is Solved.

One possible reason for this is duplicate SIDS in your domain. If the Pc was cloned with the PC in your domain and you placed that image on your PC, 2 PC's would have duplicate SID's and that is what probably caused the problem. I would recommned that you either do 1 of 2 things in the future
1) Dis-Join the to-be cloned PC from the domain before imaging, when the Pc is cloned to another PC, add it to the domain then

or (this is recommended)

2) Run the Sysprep utility from MS before the machine is cloned, upon the machine booting up, this utility will regenerate the SID. See here for more details:
