Proceesor upgrade & Win2K

Hi

I currently run Win 2k on a AMD 1800.

I am upgrading my motherboard & processor to AMD 2400. Do I need to reinstall Windows to get the best performance or can I simply replace the processor & motherboard (obviously I will install the new motherboard drivers)

I don't think re-installing windows would make any difference. As you stated, just installing the necessary drivers would be needed.

You may get away with it (btw, windows will install all the necessary drivers - or prompt for them - if it boots at all) or it may just not boot or it may appear to work, but then you have ongoing issues.

Whatever else you do - BACK UP vital data ans settings before starting.
