the file that the boot logo is in, is \windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
you may have to get the file off the cd, or if you have sp1 you'll need to get that version since it was updated in sp1.
when you get the original file, go into safe mode to restore the file.
can you see them from a command prompt? if so, they may have done an alt255 trick. this makes the first character blank and i belive it makes them invisible to older windows OS'es. while holding alt type 255 then the filename to delete it or whatever if this is the case. ex. del...
We have a Passport 8606 and a XLR1200. The 8606 is set up as the core and the 1200 is the remote. The 8606 has RIP turned on globaly and enabled with RIP supply, listen, default supply, and triggered updates on the VLAN. The 1200 has RIP enabled globaly and RIP supply, listen, default listen...
kwunder, according to the VCD specs, it is. If your DVD player supports SVCD (480x480 & 720x480, MPEG2) you might want to try that route. But, I have found that with my DVD player, if i burn a VCD in Nero but use a MPEG2 video file @ 720x480 it will play, kinda. I say kinda because the video...

Also, the c: drive HAS to be FAT or FAT32, because win98 can't read NTFS to put it's boot files there. If the c: drive is NTFS, it will have to be converted.
Cirrus9 is correct, as long as it is the same type the motherboard accepts (ie 168 pin DIMM) the speed of the RAM must be at least the speed of the bus of your motherboard.
first thing i would do is try to ping a domain name like www.yahoo.com or www.tomshardware.com to see if your gateway and DNS settings are correct. if that is succesfull, it may be the settings for IE. Goto tools > internet options > connections tab > LAN settings in IE and setup your proxy if...
update-
i got it working
i had to put a wildcard filter in there, set up the severity mask for warning, info, critical, and trace. i also had to put slot lower bound as 1 and upper bound as 1.
I haven't tried it with boot magic, but these are the instructions i used (I did have to convert the root c: partition from NTFS to FAT32 with partition magic):
This configuration will work ONLY if the root partition is FAT16 or FAT32 and the partition on which you install Win98 is also FAT16...
