IE
I have a very simple config on an accelar 1200.
two port based vlans, IP addresses assigned at a VLAN level

i have a bps2000 with two vlans configured on it, and two corresponding uplinks to the two vlans configured on the accelar

IP forwarding is turned on

all I want is simple routing between the VLANS but the accelar only appears to see one of the vlans (in the routing table/ arp cache etc )

am I forgetting something.....thanks - Paddy Dunleavy

Are you using device manager or the CLI?
I have 5 1200s, mail me

HI
Try to turn off STP
It looks like one of ports in blocking

hey, what routing protocol are you using? check to make sure it is enabled on both VLAN's

Were it mine, I would MLT the two ports from the 1200 to the BPS and Tag the MLT trunk so I could run both VLANS on both ports.

This makes the bandwidth more available, solves Spanning tree issues, and allows Prioritzation of one VLAN over the other. adding new VLANS or additional trunk ports later is easier as well.

My VLANs 2101, 2102, and 2103 share MLT ports 25 and 26 in my BPS and 1/5 and 1/6 in my 1200

(previously used port 1 and 2 in the BPS, still configured as tagged)

What routing protocol are you using? RIP OSPF??? You must enable the routing protocol on the box (chasis) and also on each VLAN. Unless I've mis understood your question this should fix your problem. Don't forget all the routing is done on the 1200!!!! The 450 and BPS is a layer two box.

I'm having a similar problem on an Accelar 1100 I just picked up. I'm pretty new to Bay switches, so pardon the potentially stupid questions :)

I have IP forwarding turned on, OSPF enabled globally and on VLANs 1 & 16. Each VLAN is in area 0.0.0.0. It will not route packets between VLANs. If I hook up a router on VLAN 1 and enable OSPF, I see the routes advertised by the 1100 but it cannot get to VLAN 16.

Two more questions while we're on the subject:
1. How do I get my static default route to redistribute into my OSPF process ('default-information originate always metric-type 1' for those familiar with Cisco IOS)?
2. Do I need to update my boot monitor to 2.x code to use 2.x software? I have the 2.x images from the Bay FTP site, but they don't have a matching boot monitor image available. If I do need an upgrade, does anyone have an image I could obtain from them?

TIA,
Derek
