oh, I just shut down my laptop after that error, and noticed the memory DIMMS were hot.....is this error coming because of an overheating problem??
Also, sometimes the LCD is blank on power-up, and no POST occurs.....I have to power on with the Adaptor and battery in, then after a lucky time...
Sometimes I get a blue screen with a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error.....
the technical error data is....

1. I have a network with a Win2000 STD Server as a DC, and with a few workstations...they are all 2000 pro and XP, except for one with WinME...I know WinMe is a pain in the neck, but I have to keep it on there.
My question is, how do I stop the user from being able to use the computer when the...

Actually you can connect to a w2k server with a XP home pc. I have one on my network, and it works fine.
To JC you might be well off using per server licensing, if everybody is not connected to the server at all times.
The w2k usually ships with 5 CALs, and if you set them up in a per server...
So XP Home cant connect to a Win2K Server domain?
Damn it....oh well I only have 1 XP Home computer anyways

I want to setup TS in Remote Admin mode so I can access the server while at another location. I have 5 CALs (its a small server) in PER SERVER licensing mode....does TS require per SEAT licensing?
Also, how do I setup the connection for the client computer? I will be using either Win2000 Pro or...
not sure if I installed AD or not...have to check later...I'm at a remote location right now...and the server is off, so i cant access it.

Did a Google search and this problem does not really have a solution except to run the install in Safe Mode and also to disable and/or un-install IIS (Internet Information Services) then reactivate/re-install IIS AFTER running the SP4 update.
Good Luck!

Well, thanks very much for the help. But before I pass this along to him, I would like to know...if he is setting up a web server, does he need CALs for the whole world to access the site, or does he need some other license or what? If he is using it as a domain inside his house he DOES need...
Also, he told me that the version that he bought comes with 5 CALs....if he is setting up a web server for a website, does he need a CAL for all the computers planning to connect???? Both of us are not sure on this whole CAL thing.....I've never worked with servers, and neither has he...
