    "Connecting to 127.0.0.1" message

If you were to ping localhost, under ping statistics, it would say "Ping Statistics for 127.0.0.1..." It's basically the default IP address for win98. Go to start>run>command> then type "ping localhost"...any percentage of loss, reinstall tcp/ip in your network...

    Multiple Connections problem

Go into start>settings>control panel>internet options. CLick on the connections tab, and make sure the T-1 connection is set as the default net connection. That's all I can think of at this time, but if I get more ideas, I'll be sure to let you know! s-) clgx299@earthlink.net I came, I saw, I...

    attachment errors

Try saving the attachment to the desktop. If that doesn't work, they may have been sent incorrectly. If saving doesn't work, try having the sender re-mail you the attachments, and see what happens clgx299@earthlink.net I came, I saw, I connected at 48.8...

    Non-MS email clients?

I know of a free download called ePrompter. It simultaneously checks up to 10 email addresses, then tells you which address has new messages to a pre-set time. Say for example, if you want your mail checked every 15 minutes, it'll log in every 15 mins to all your addresses, and it tells you...

windows protection error: here we go again...

reghakr, I tried all those steps, and yes, you copied the same thing before :-) I printed the info, and did all the steps again, and this time not one troubleshooting step has changed the bootup at all. The display settings are still all messed up until we reboot a million times, and I'm...

windows protection error: here we go again...

Ok, I thought I had it fixed, but I guess not. Now, we get the protection error, so we boot into safe mode, but this is unusual...after in safe mode, we choose restart. When it restarts, we get huge display settings, so we shrink them and restart again. After it boots up, everything runs...

    need installation disketts for win95.

Yeah, keep in mind there are different versions of win95. OSR1, OSR2, stuff like that. Just be sure if you do get the disks, they're the right version. Good luck! Have fun, stay young, peel your eyes off the monitor!! s-) clgx299@earthlink.net I came, I saw, I connected at 48.8...

Difference Between Raid Mobo and Non-Raid Mobo

I used to have a regular K7 non raid, then I had upgraded to the K7 Raid. Maybe I'm blind, or stupid, but my husband and I really can't tell the difference. My advice? Take that extra 50 bucks and buy yourself something nice...s-) clgx299@earthlink.net I came, I saw, I connected at 48.8...

My Modem Dials, but Does Not Connect

Try putting a comma before the number to be dialed. If that doesn't work, try putting one after the number. Usually works, but good luck!! s-) Julie clgx299@earthlink.net I came, I saw, I connected at 48.8...

    win98 protection error

We finally are able to boot into normal mode. Turns out it was a corrupted win.ini file. I extracted it from the cd, and all is well, except for that damned gaming problem again. Everything works beautifully, except when we move the mouse over graphics. *sigh* And this is how the cookie...

    win98 protection error

I have recently put win98 on my system, and everything was fine, except for running games. We keep getting windows protection errors, which only allows us to go into safe mode, which when checked in properties and system setup, everything is perfectly normal. When we try to boot in normal...

    win98 crashing horribly on games

We have 3 internal fans going. We have a huge copper heat-sinc bigger than my fist, we have a fan card, and everything is ventilating perfectly. We have 256MB RAM, and 83% system resources free. Any other suggestions? (That article was very helpful though! My husband commends you for all...

    win98 crashing horribly on games

no error messgae, no. When the mouse starts off on a graphic, it freezes right away. When we move the mouse over a graphic, it'll freeze. Otherwise, it's fine. It's ok as long as the mouse isn't pointing on a graphic. No device manager conflicts or duplicates, no, but we had this exact...
