A PCI security software vendor issued a statement this week that retailers could avoid PCI's requirement if it adopted a token approach the vendor was...
I was under the impression that the shift4 token process wrote the data being passed in the interface log. If this is the case would this still be PCI?
Ok,
I might have one for you. What version of the 3700 are you running? I can help you run reports in micros and output them to an excel file. The trick that I have creates an excel file that will have a unique cell for each value. You could write a master spreadsheet that would look at the...
FoodtoGo,
You should re-read your link. This is talking about purchasing the equipment third party. If you purchase a restaurant that
owns the equipment.."Not a Lease Company" than you own the licensing rights and equipment. They are considered assets of the company and they belong to you.
You can always use Transaction Analyzer to do this. You can setup a report for cancels/voids and setup auth code as a field. When you are talking about cancels, do you mean voids. Or are they cancelling a check after service total?
You must open POS Config. In the employee classes area under privileges you will see a new area for DM. You need to check each of the boxes. Now when you open DM, you have access to all these area's.
Sky,
Please post your email and I will send you a contact that will be able to supply this information. You might be request to sign a NDA to obtain this info.
In Version 4.0 you need to setup all passwords in DM. These do not carry over for previous versions. You will need to open DM and setup the passwords for any connection you might want to use. Remember, you control the DBA password...this part of the encryption requirement. So if you can it be...
Dolan,
You need to research the licensing issue. If your friend purchased the restuarant that contained micros, then he/she ownes the licensing. This is tranferable! If you purchase the hardware via the net, example:Ebay then you need to repurchase. The only fee would be setting up credit cards...
What Version of MICROS are you running? Sounds like e7 if you have a single terminal. Do you have a copy of the database? This is stored on the Flash card and would be lost if you cleared the Flash.
TobeThor,
Check your facts on who charges what. There are fee's for change or services, and Credit Card Support Contracts. However, Micros does not charge a single penny for credit card transactions. They are not in the processing business and never have been. Now if there is an agreement...
Twisted88.
These charges can range. Did you purchase the gear during a restuarant take over or online? If in a take over you own the license and the standard fee is $325.00. $200 for the change of service and $125.00 for the labor to do it. If you bought the system via online, through someone...
SVC or stored value card. The benefit is that you have a monthly fee instead of transaction fee's. You can setup your cards, check balance, redeem, sell, and all those great things and never have to be charged fee's. However, there are many players in the gift card market and I suggest you...

I have many years in this business. I have seen POS companies come and go. There are new ones popping up daily offering internet updates and excellent service. I also check stocks of each of these companies. So some are doing great and other are just holding on waiting to aquired by a bigger...
MICROS not open architecture? Every single new piece they sell with the exception of the WS4 is open architecture, and that even is left for discussion. Micros has many of their competiors using micros hardware to run their software.
The WS4 runs MICROSOFT CE.NET, and uses DOC and Compact Flash...
You will need the software licensed to see data for the current business date. If the system is not licensed all data will post to the demo date 9/8/2015. You also need to make sure that you are posting data via autoseq every 15 minutes or so. The views receive there data when the system posts...
Look in the views. Micros uses shifts so that you can track by time period. Tips are linked to business dates most likely.
You are going yo want to look at micros.shift_emp...tables. There are a few here and should do the trick. If not look in the views. Using Sybase will help you discover...
Buy the small guy....and you will kick yourself in less than a year. You will turn around and buy the BIG GUY, or you will will deal with system malfuntions, software limitations, and no support. Aloha, sure they have ok software...but the hardware! They will put anything in to close the deal...
