Mac OS X Tiger or Leopard?

Don't ever wait for the next operating system because most companies won't know what the final product will look like and I have never bet on the day it will come out. After all operating systems are compromises and don't always end up in the driection they were headed.

A windows small business server sounds like the best thing for you. Windows server 2003 would probably work fine. Raid 0,1, or 5, 10. If I am looking for reliablity use a older typically slower proven drive. If you are looking for speed the larger faster drive is the one you need. Tom's hardware has a great comparison of drive performances if you want to check out their ideas. Good Luck

    Samsung Formatting Issues

Most new processors like cooling. Running any power CPU without the fan cycling will ruin the processor. Even though they have thermal failsafes in the unit doing without a fan will eventually damage the CPU. Try to manually set the hard drive parameters in the BIOS using the hard drive's...

    IDE Controller problem???

I don't think the board processor or hard drive are bad. Try this. Reset you CMOS, next when you start the unit go directly into the BIOS and manually set the hard drive to the proper setting. You may have to look up the hard drive's specifications to know what you want. I have ran into this...

reinstall, or REPAIR Win 2K with new components...

Best to reinstall. But you might just buy a small hard disk drive and install on this new drive and use the old drive as a slave where you could then move some programs and data to where you want. I have tried to do the things you asked and have been successful however it took alot of time.

There are lots of good ram manufacturers. But since you are adding to a existing system I recommend the same ram as you have now. This allows you to use you have ram now with what you would buy. Open up your unit and make sure you have more slots available. If not then you need to inform the...

    SATA Vs. SCSI

I have worked on both scsi and ide raids. Because SCSi has been around so long in the server enviornment I believe staying with a scsi hard drive is the best answer. There are many technical reasons but the best is longevity and reliablity when it comes to a long term stable server. The Sata...
