Hello fellows,

I need help tips on which or how to buy 2 harddrives, preferably WD for my new system. I want to set them up in RAID. I'm debating between the 10,000RPM Raptor or two 7,200 RPM. FYI, I'd like to save some money also in the process.

More info is needed for helpful answers.

What is your goal with your drives?

Will you be doing video editing, just for playing games?

Do you have a raid card or will you just be using the software raid, because that would slow down the drives.

Raid 0,1, or 5, 10. If I am looking for reliablity use a older typically slower proven drive. If you are looking for speed the larger faster drive is the one you need. Tom's hardware has a great comparison of drive performances if you want to check out their ideas. Good Luck
