No there will be no problem - your two DNS server should be configured with the same scope but with the opposite range of addresses excluded, you appear to want a 50 / 50 split so 50% of the addresses are excluded on one server and the other 50% excluded on the other. The same reservations...
Once you have upgraded your PDC to be a W2K DC in my opinion all new DC's should be clean installs (i.e rebuild as W2K servers and DCPROMO).
I would remove the BDC, then go native. The older Clients will use the server with the PDC emulator role.
If you want to create a child domain the...
I have created a template of a user and when I copy this template everything is duplicated except the streetAddress attribute. I am aware that in the schema you have a tick box "copy this attribute when duplicating a user" but this is greyed out on this attribute.
Going through documentation I...
They are pretty self explanatory but I would not use them unless I was experiencing problems with the database. Running the commands given by Dana will let you know if there are any problems.
Consider them for an offline defragmentation if you are badly running out of space but in fairness the...
We had similar issues and found this to be a good document

Everything in the printer properties has to be set to A4, on the new style HP printers you have to specify A4 in the properties (location changes but mostly on Advanced tab) and also in personal preferences. It does generally appear that HP default to letter on install. I would check this first...
It is my understanding that the stndard W2K CD setup process allows you to delete, create partitions etc... prior to install and it will give you the option to automatically format the primary partition for you.
Poptech, we must have hit the submit button at the same time - here is what power users are about.
Members of the Power Users group have more permissions than members of the Users group and fewer than members of the Administrators group. Power Users can perform any operating system task except...
It is not a problem with the serial port / user but with the rights that a power user gives you. It sounds as if the the camera software requires a higher level of permissions than just user. Giving him power user rights should not unduly affect your control as an Administrator but if you do not...
Both the memory and driver appear to be possible problems - also if you have the option to print directly to printer rather than spool the job try this also.
You mention that you think it is a profile issue so does it hang when you have entered your username / password ? If it hangs at CTRL, ALT, DEL it sounds like an OS issue. I'm confused as well - if it is the second option you could be resorting to using the repair option on the W2K installation...
Moving the folder instead of cutting and pasting should do it. Drag the folder using the right mouse button and when you drop the folder in the directory you need you'll get an option to 'move here' - this should copy all the permissions associated as well.
In the propoerties of the profile in Outlook 2002 you may have automatic network authentication enabled for the account - change to no authentication or prompt for authentication (can't remember exactly) then you will be asked for a domain account as I have a feeling that the administrator...
Have you or anyone else logged into the laptop previously or is it a new build ? If login has been successful before are there any recent hardware / software additions ?
Definately a few business like replies here ! Given carte blanche so to speak, and being a little bit nosey, I would definately have a look to see what he / she was up to !! As mudskipper mentioned it will make a difference what file system the user was operating but if you are using the same OS...
The synchronisation manager is c:\winnt\system32\mobsync.exe - or if you go to help and look for synchronisation it will pull up a few options which will shortcut you to the Synchronisation Manager. Hope it works for you.
Check that when you installed Office that you used the option to install everything onto your hard drive. That will ensure that the package will look to your hard drive for additional information required.
Use a 9x boot disk and fdisk and format the drive or use a W2K installation disk to do the same. If you can't see the full drive using these methods it may be that the size of drive is unsupported in the Bios. Check for your latest bios updates.
