    Jbconfig Fails

Did you install the packages? can you get an output of pkginfo | grep LGTO ? possibly if the drivers were not loaded you might see this. It is a very odd problem. I have installed NW 100's of time and never seen this problem on any OS. John7

    Does Legato cross NFS Mounts?

No, It will backup the link that is all. You can read the man page on save, you might be able to force it to work. There are problems inherent with backing up an nfs link, the two that come to mind are 1)Your network taking a double hit first data has to go from A to B then the Backup server...

A command to check the status of the tape drives?

Have you tried to use nsrwatch with a -p option which will tell it to poll every X seconds. This might give you a easyier target to look for. Also have you tried to send the nsrwatch to a file then kill it, and look for the data you want there? That is the only thing I can think of.

    Config file

You could also have the user tar up /nsr/res and send you the contents. If you have the same platform you can load up an eval version and use the interfaces to look at the config.

    Backing up SCO Unixware clients

Try here: ftp://ftp.legato.com/pub/Unsupported/ClientPak_Unix/1.1/ or look thru the Unsupported directory. Please note the UNSUPPORTED, if you use this software is it at your own risk, and Legato can and will not take support calls on any of this client software. This stuff may also not be...

    Clarify 'device' for me

A device is a tape drive not a slot in the jukebox. If your library only has one tape drive you will only configure 1 device. If you are trying to configure the JB run jbconfig and do an autodetect.

    Errors in Logs

Check that your autochanger/Jukebox is still working. try to mount and dismount a tape. If there is a problem you may have to re-run jbconfig. Did the system change at all? new scsi controller added? it might have changed the order on the system and the Jukebox maybe configured for the wrong...

    Realtime reporting statistics

I don't think you will be able to do this. The only thing the server really knows is: 1) Data is coming in 2) The client is done During the backup the server is fed a byte stream of data, it has no real idea of what files are getting backed up. the data is in a format where the data is in a...

how do I know what the next tape is?

I don't think you can find out. Networker picks tapes on its own. I don't think you will be able to figure this out. Now, why do you want to figure this out? Also NW will post a message stating which tape it wants mount after it has filled up the last one also. John7
