Is there a config file in Networker that one can copy and review offsite in order to get a second set of eyes to verify the settings?

The client is at one location and we would like to have the configs sent to us for inspection.

Thanks,

There was at version 5. No longer though. This was to increase speeed, but, as a side-effect, stops 3rd parties editing teh files and making mistakes.

Well, I can see the logic in that. However, that doesn't help me getting a second set of eyes to review the settings.

Oh Well, appreciate the input :)

You can, just follow theses steps :

specify *@* (temporarly) in networker administrator field,
stop your services /daemon,
copy the entire RES directory,
install a new temporary "second eye" server,
stop services/daemons on the temporary "second eye" server,
copy the entire res directory to the same location,
restart services.

you got the configuration (except that the server is replaced by the new one).

You could also have the user tar up /nsr/res and send you the contents. If you have the same platform you can load up an eval version and use the interfaces to look at the config.

Alternatively, get a copy of the bootstrap information and tape. Then you could do an mmrecov.

If you run NW 7 you may create the nsr support output file
and even export this in htm format. This also contains the
configuration.

BTW - transfering the res files to an eval version even
works cross-platform. However, this will of course not run.
