Client has a Sun L1000 - 1 drive - 30 tape slots. Is the device /dev/rmt/0cbn considered the "drive" or the first tape slot for the drive? In other words - if I added the following sequence: 1cbn, 2cbn,...30cbn would that denote the tape slots for the Jukebox? Or is it that within the device setup window to define the single device as 0cbn and then within the "Available slots:" field specify slots 1-30 for the tape library?

Thanks,

A device is a tape drive not a slot in the jukebox.

If your library only has one tape drive you will only configure 1 device.

If you are trying to configure the JB run jbconfig and do an autodetect.
