Found it - for anybody else who has this, try http://www.elcomsoft.com/aolpr.html?from=passcr, which has a 30 day shareware password cracker for Outlook XP/2K, etc.
If you've been stupid enough to do this and not remember the password - is there any way to get past it??? I'd be most grateful for any pointers.
And yes, it was me, and yes I'm embarrassed. But I was under duress!
Thanks very much for that gargouille. However, since my last post my colleague has fixed it without having to use it as a slave by copying over system files and restoring the registry settings. Took a long time though! Thanks for your help.
I've got a machine running 95 that's not starting with a message about GDI having an error, it then shuts down the machine. Initially it had an error about Iosubsys directory being not present or corrupted. We've copied over contents of this but now comes up with this GDI thing. Trouble is that...
I've had a punter on the phone who's off site and miles away. He's essentially using an offline machine (he doesn't connect to the WAN) and was advised to setup virgin.net or something similiar to get internet access.
Anyway, everytime he gets onto the internet he says he gets loads of pop-up...
Blimey, that's a lot of technical information which I'll have a read through - thanks very much, it should be v. useful. However, I'm predominantly interested in whether people think it's got much of a future. I think personally it's the dogs b***ks, but I'm not exactly a big ticket spender...
Dunno whether this is the right forum to post this on, but I'm curious to find out what experience if any, people have with bluetooth.
Any good reliable URLs would be appreciated as well - the official bluetooth site isn't up to much on indicating joe public market trends - just at analyst...
Thanks a lot, incidentally - there's another site that someone's pointed me to from another source.
http://www.slipstick.com/config/convaddr.htm
Looks like it's got loads of conversion utils.
Thanks a lot ron_r_a
Hi all
I've got a load of punters who are being chucked onto w2k from various platforms. Trouble is, they've been using cardfile for ages and have loads of information held in that format.
They're being moved onto Outlook XP, so I need to find out how best to migrate the information. They're...
I've got my A+ certification, and although I've had to explain the principal to some agencies/punters, they've usually looked impressed. I'd recommend it personally - it's an overall base level qualification that goes down well with people jaded with looking at Microsoft standards all the time...
I've had this loads - just download the latest SuperDat from McAfee (if you can fight your way through all the advertising). That's sorted it every time for me. Think you need to make sure the software isn't running before you install though.
I thought there was a "Restore Default Icon" in Office 2000? Assuming that's what you're using. I'm always getting the Office Shortcut bar nadgered up - just showing question marks instead of usual icons, and I'm sure I've seen restore as an option somewhere but I'm using 97 now...
Hi gfunk123
We've had this in the gaff I'm in right now, but it appeared to be down to network traffic. We switched off internet services for a while due to nimda and the thing worked like a dream. See if you can log onto your router (using http//ip) and have a look at whether there's a lot of...
Cheers mate. Alas - this doesn't seem to be the case. I've got two users who were both initially logged onto Win2K and they've contacted me with similiar problems.
The only thing I can think to do is to just disable roaming profiles.
I think this is because you've logged onto a couple of machines where you've not been added as a Power User in Control Panel/Users. Even if you have been added to the machine you're using, I've had an instance where the permissions from an NT machine, copied over onto a 98 machine, presumably in...
Thanks - do you mean create a new user or setup within Control Panel/Users in Win2K?
Unfortunately Win2K decides to copy over permissions to Win98 as well - meaning that when one of my punters tried to log onto a Win2k machine that he wasn't setup as a user for, he then found he couldn't setup...
We've had McAfee causing IE to crash with Fatal Exception errors after dat file updates. If this is the case, then you need to download the latest Superdat from the mcafee site. It's usually about 3Mb, and updates dll's as well as the engine file and dat file. You should find this sorts it...
We've got a network running on NT4, and have just rolled out a couple of 2000 machines (we're moving onto W2K v. soon), and it seems to have banjoed the profiles. Unfortunately the users have been jumping from Win2K to 98 machines to 95, oh and there's an NT machine in there too.
Now they've...
I had a problem with McAfee - don't we all. If you're running V4.03 or something similiar, you may have to upgrade to at least 4.5. I found this on the hp website because I had the problem on one of their e-pc's, but it might not be limited to particular models.
Try removing it and see what...
