Migrating info from creaky old Cardfile

Hi all

I've got a load of punters who are being chucked onto w2k from various platforms. Trouble is, they've been using cardfile for ages and have loads of information held in that format.

They're being moved onto Outlook XP, so I need to find out how best to migrate the information. They're using Outlook 97 as a client now, but I've a feeling that only Lotus Smartsuite will read cardfile stuff.

explains how to do this. Enter Q164994 in the search field near the top left corner. That will take you to an article entitled "Converting Windows Cardfile to Outlook 97". In a nutshell, workaround 2 on that paper explains how to print Cardfile records to a text file; then use Word to change the comma-delimited file to a tab-delimited file; then import the file into Outlook.
