Probably too late for these folks - but for anyone else reading this - I was getting the same thing. Had the CA pointing to the new server, and the exact same setup/config/install was working correctly on 3 out of 4 servers, but one server was giving me the 0 folders found.
I went to 5.5 admin...
Hi all - I'm needing to backup personal folders (pst file) on laptops' C: drives in my company.
Complication: when these power users have their laptops powered on and connected to the network, of course they have Outlook open. So of course Outlook has a "lock" on this pst file and Windows...
Yeoer - super. Your reference to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=829418 was exactly my problem. Many thanks. Everyone else having this issue - please check this link!

The only issues I've found w/ google revolve around DNS and/or issues on the recieving server (mail down or whatever...)
However, mine was in transporting messages from one site to another in my own org. So I'm not sure...
One thing I found to try was to make sure that the sender doesn't have a...
Greetings all -
As I understand it and have tested it, if a person who received an Outlook meeting request forwards this meeting request to someone else, it "sends as" and shows up as "sent on behalf" of the meeting organizer.
It's a "Microsoft Feature," I guess...
This is a known issue w/ MS. They are *supposed* to be working on a fix (as of 7-30-03). Their explanation: "this is a bug in SP4 due to a security change that was made to SP4"
I guess your only option would be to roll back your OS SP to 3. I'd try this in a lab first.

Greetings all -
We just got a NAS box from NetApp - now I'm looking to determine how to best migrate data from 3 file servers into one NAS box.
I tried to go to a NetApp class, but the semi-local class was full and they're changing their education process.
Thus, I'm looking to see if you guys...
Additionally, I'd check these articles, too, just to make sure you've covered everything and understand all the pieces:
MS Q152960 & Q155216

Good luck,

'Lo all -
I'm on 5.5 right now and tenatively planning on going to Exchange 2000 next year.
As I hear more about Titanium, I've pondered skipping E2K and just waiting to upgrade from 5.5 directly to Titanium.
Here's a bit of history:
This year, we are migrating five NT4 domains into a...
Yes, we set up the supervisor's mailbox and outlook to have permissions and to open an additioal mailbox. It works fine as long as the supervisor doesn't read a message that hasn't yet been read by the user.
They were looking for a way to actually automatically BCC: the super of every...
ALL - I know this thread is old, but I'm currently visiting this topic in my company. A couple of questions:
Zelandakh - I can't figure out a way to put a "Sent Items" folder in the folder list and I can't seem to get the Rules Wiz to process against any folder other than the primary...
Prha - Here's a link on some of the downfalls of pst files that you may want to consider.
http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq_appxf.htm
We use them some - but another thing to consider is that anytime the user changes machines, or you upgrade the machine, you have to take time to make sure...
This is a shot in the dark and I haven't read the Q article you mentioned... perhaps the user and the pub folder are on different home servers. Perhaps a replica needs to be created from the home server of the pub folder to the home server of the mailbox. I dunno. Sorry.
Good luck.

Have you checked the size of the priv and pub files recently after a reboot? If you're running Exch 5.5 standard edition - there is a 16G limit on these files, each.
Unless there is something else on your E: - one of these files could be taking up >16G and thus causing the IS to quit.
The...
If you can, you'd have to delve into the syntax of the directory import stuff.
I had to pull out a field once and had to have the syntax exactly right to get it to work. Sorry I don't have more info, but I'd probably start with a google search on "directory export" "exchange...
Greetings -
Is there a way to set exchange to auto create a secondary proxy address (additional SMTP address) for each object created?
Ex.
john.doe@domain.com is automatically created per the setup in Site Addressing | Site Addressing (properties | tab)
How can I get Exchange to automatically...
Possibly what happened is one of User1's buddies (User2) had a "Read Receipt" turned on.
So when Mgr1 read the message intended for User1, the read receipt was sent to User2 that Mgr1 read the message.
User2 calls User1 on the phone and says "guess what..."
