Can not run Optimizer

We are running Windows 2000 Server with SP4 installed and Exchange 5.5 with SP4. When I try and run the Exchange Optimizer I get the following error message "The service's list of dependent services could not be enumerated." Please help!

This is a known issue w/ MS. They are *supposed* to be working on a fix (as of 7-30-03). Their explanation: "this is a bug in SP4 due to a security change that was made to SP4"

I guess your only option would be to roll back your OS SP to 3. I'd try this in a lab first.

Sorry for late posting, the alternative solution is to stop all MS Exchange services yourself and then run the optimizer - works a treat!
